OF HOUSTON AREA DOG PARKS
Aaby Dogpark (Kingwood)
Location: 619 Lakeville Dr, Kingwood, TX 77339
Aaby Dog Park for Kingwood is a joint initiative by Kingwood Kennels and
Aaby Foundation which provides a fun and safe off-leash environment for
dogs to both exercise and socialize. It is set on 2 acres of partly cleared
land at 619 Lakeville Drive, just off Russell Palmer Road and next door
to Kingwood Kennels. The Dog Park is open dawn to dusk 7 days a week.
Residents wishing to utilize the Dog Park are required to complete a registration
form and show proof of current vaccinations to receive a park tag good
for one year.
Alexander Deussen Park (Lake Houston)
Coming Soon. The estimated
time of completion is spring of 2010.
Bay Area Bark Park (Pasadena)
Location: 7500 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, TX 77058
Amenities: Total 5.3 acres, large and small dog areas, covered awnings,
benches, picnic tables, VERY SHADY, walking path, dog and people water
fountains, waste bag stations, dog shower stations.
Baytown Bark Park (Baytown)
Location: 4334 Crosby Cedar Bayou
Amenities: Total of 5 acres, new trees, walking path, large and small
dog areas, covered awnings, benches, dog and people water fountains, waste
bag stations, large dog area has agility equipment. Located next to a
people park and skate park. There are also wooded trails that connect
to another park that are great for shady walks on leash.
Bear Branch Dog Park (The Woodlands)
Location: 5200 Research Forest Drive. On the NORTH side of Research Forest
Drive, west of I-45 and west of Shadowbend.
Amenities: 2+ very shady acres, separated into a large dog section and
a small dog section(25lbs and under). There is a "water play station"
available in both areas, many benches and of course, dog waste bags and
waste containers- and it is double gated. NO CHILDREN UNDER 9 ALLOWED
Cattail Dog Park (The Woodlands)
Location: 9323 Cochrans Crossing Drive, in the Woodlands north of Houston
off I-45. across from Palmer Golf Club house in Cattail Park.
Amenities: Double gated & fenced, pick up bags, water fountain, doggie
cool off station, benches, bulletin board, parking lot. www.thewoodlandsdogparkclub.org
Congressman Bill Archer Bark
Park (West Houston)
Location: 3201 Hwy 6, just north of I-10. Across from Bear Creek Park.
Amenities: 20 plus acres. Double gated & fenced, pick up bags, large
and small dog areas (with large and small agilty fun equipment in them!)
-doggie swimming ponds, water fountains, doggie showers, shade areas,
benches, lots of trees, long walking trails, parking lot. Open 7 days
a week dawn to dusk. NOTE: No doggie training treats allowed in dog parks,
it causes fights!
Danny Jackson Bark Park (Inner
Loop)
Location: 4700 Westpark, just inside the loop and just South of 59 - under
the power lines, between Loop 610 and Loop Central.
Amenities: Large and small dog seperate areas each with a pond, new trees,
benches, walking path.
Discovery Green (Downtown)
Location: 1500 McKinney
Amenities: The Kinder Large Dog Run and Harriet and Joe Foster Dog Runs
offer a place at the park for the four-legged family member. The areas
feature crushed gravel, fountains and seating.
Ella and Friends Dog Park (Deer
Park)
Location: 500 W. 13th Stnear Jimmy Burke Activity Center. Two acre dog
park in Deer Park on 13th Street west of Center next to the Jimmy Burke
Activity Center. Constructed by Deer Park Rotary Club and the City of
Deer Park. Contact City of Deer Park for more info.
Ervan Chew Dog Park (Inner Loop)
Location: 4502 Dunlavy. Inside loop 610, 4502 Dunlavy. This park is East
of Shephard and South of Richmond off the Southwest Freeway (Hwy 59) .
Amenities: Double gated & fenced, pick up bags, water fountain, benches
around large trees. Small pocket park within a small neighborhood park
that has a nice kids playground too.
Independence Dog Park (Pearland)
Location: 3919 Liberty Drive
Amenities: Separate small dog area
Katy Dog Park (Katy)
Location: 5414 Franz Road, Katy, Tx. 77493. From I-10 W, take the Katy
Mills Mall exit and turn RIGHT. Turn LEFT on Franz Rd. It’s on the
RIGHT. It shares the parking lot with the Katy Library and is next to
the police station and backs up to Mary Jo Peckham Park. Amenities: It’s
14 acres with lots of shade trees and grass. There is a large paved walking
trail. There are currently two water fountains (both for dogs and people).
They are working on a swimming pond, and will add benches and a washing
area soon as well as agility equipment.
Levy Park Dog Park (Inner Loop)
Location: 3801 Eastside, 1 block South of Richmond (between Kirby and
Buffalo Spdwy)
Amenities: Some shade, lots of parking, dog water fountain. Send us your

Maxey Bark and Run Park (East
Houston)
Location: East Houston, 601 Maxey Road, next to the Metro Park and Ride.
Exit I-10 East, go north on Federal Road, which turns into Maxey Road
and it is on the right.
Amenities: A large dog park with a human park next door, triple gated
& fenced, pick up bags, large and small dog areas, water fountains,
doggie cool off shower, large shade trees, benches, information kiosk,
porta potty, small parking lot. Open Dawn to Dusk.
Millie Bush Bark Park (West Houston)
Location: 16756 Westheimer Parkway near Hwy 6
Amenities: Thirteen acres. Double gated & fenced, pick up bags, large
and small dog areas (with large and small fire hydrants in them!) -doggie
swimming ponds, water fountains, doggie showers, shade areas, benches,
scattered trees, walking path, parking lot. Picnic benches outside park.
Restrooms close by but not in the dog park. Open 7 days a week dawn to
dusk.
Officer Lucy Dog Park (Bellaire)
Location: Just inside loop 610, 4337 Lafayette in Bellaire. near Beechnut
and NewCastle.
Amenities: Double gated & fenced, pick up bags, Large dog and small
dog areas, some shade in large dog area, water available. *Note: This
is a small neighborhood park intended for residents of the area. It is
not easily visible from the street, has no signs, and the parking lot
and entrance is actually off Edith Street, one block south of Lafayette.
No children under 12 Allowed.
Pawm Springs Bark Park (Sugarland)
Location: Sugar Land Memorial Park, 15300 University Blvd.
Amenities: The tropical oasis-themed Pawm Springs dog park is a six-acre
retreat that includes large- and small-dog areas enclosed by a chain linked
fence, a shade pavilion and a resort style pond. Includes a pond that
resembles a beach area with loungers, a palm tree water spray feature
and beautiful tropical landscaping.
Southdown Dog Park (Pearland)
Location: 2150 County Rd 94 (Smith Ranch Rd)
Amenities: This park has shade, benches, and bright colored agility equipment.
Tanglewood Bark Park (Galleria
Area)
Location: 5801 Woodway Drive, in Tanglewood Park at corner of Bering and
Woodway.
Amenities: A small neighborhood type fenced off-leash park.
TC
Jester Bark Park (Oak Forest)
Location: 4201 TC Jester Boulevard
Amenities: Separate small and large areas, double gates entrance, drinking
fountains, benches, trees, and washing stations. This very small park
is a great first stop so your dog can relieve himself and run around to
tire-out a little before heading off to jog with you on a leash on the
long paved paths of TC Jester Bayou. Behind the baseball fields by the
TC Jester Swim Pool.
Terramont Dog Park (The Woodlands)
Location: 8500 Terramont Lane. (off of Branch Crossing
in the Village of Sterling Ridge)
Note: Small dogs (25lbs or less only).

West
Webster Bark Park (Montrose)
Location: 1501 West Webster
Amenities: Water fountains, small wash station.

AREA DOG PARKS
Austin:
Riverside Park
Location: I-35 & Riverside.
Amenities: Fenced, small parking area, bulletin board, pick-up bags, water
is available from park users who bring water in gallon containers. Other
off leash areas are available however they are not fenced.
Austin: Red Bud Isle
submitted by a user: "There is the most fabulous
place in Austin called Red Bud Isle off of Lake Austin Boulevard as you
turn into Westlake. It is an island with multiple water points and an
excellent place to let your dog run and do water exercise. Its completely
leash-free and has trails and bag dispensers and benches. Plus there's
a parking lot that joins the island with the mainland.Our Golden Retriever,
Rahja, runs, swims and hikes along with large and small dogs alike and
it's great community of dog enthusiasts."
Austin:
Pace Bend Park
Location: I-35 & Riverside. Pace Bend Park is a park and camp ground
on Lake Travis that allows dogs off leash!

White Rock Lake Dog Park
Location: 8000 Mockingbird Lane off I-75 (Central Expressway)
Amenities: Double gated entry, fenced, large and small dog areas, pick
up bags, water fountains, bulletin board, shade in large dog area, parking

Dallas:
Bark Park Central
Location: SW Corner of Good-Latimer Expressway and Commerce. Amenities:
Double gated entry, fenced, shade.
Fort
Worth
Location: 750 North Beach Street in Gateway Park
Amenities: Double gated entry, fenced, Large dog and small dog areas,
picnic tables, benches, water fountains, doggie showers, clean up bags,
*closed for maintenance until noon 1st & 3rd Monday of each month.
Plano
Location: in Jack Carter Park off Bluebonnet Trail off Pleasant Valley
Dr. in central Plano. *For recorded information and days the park may

San
Antonio: Pearsall Park Dog Park
Location: 4700 Old Pearsall Road in Pearsall Park.
Amenities: Double gated fenced, clean up bags, Agility equipment (doggie
play course), picnic tables, restroom, water fountains, shade.
San
Marcos : Community Dog Park
Location: shares the same parking lot with the City’s Library on
Charles Austin Drive.
Amenities: Fenced, water for dogs
